Our Staff
Blake
and Jane Boyer, Owners
As
owners of The Dog Zone we would like to introduce ourselves to you and share a
little about our background and our love for dogs.
My
wife Jane and I were born and raised in Eastern Iowa, making Cedar Rapids our
home for the last 23 years. We have been married for 29 years and have 3
fantastic children; two sons age 25 and 17 and a daughter who is 21. In addition
to our family of five, we currently own seven dogs of our own! It is a full
house, but we love every minute of it!
Since
my wife and I were young, we have always had a love for dogs and have own
several different breeds of dogs.
We have been raising, training and breeding dogs for the last 22 years.
In the last nine years we have trained our dogs as well as other’s dogs to
achieve the highest level possible in the AKC Walking Hunt Test obtaining the
top title given as “AKC Master Hunters”. We have also tested puppies up to
16 months in age in the NAVHDA organization obtaining the top score possible of
112 points and Prize One Titles. During the hunting season I am a professional
guide for other groups of hunters from various states across the nation. The
guided hunts have been featured in various outdoor publications and on outdoor
television networks. Jane is just as passionate as I am about dogs as you can
see from the picture below. We both know dogs have human like qualities that
make each dog unique from the rest.
Our
love and passion for dogs run very deep we look forward to getting know each of
you, your dogs and caring for your 4 legged companions.

Sara
was first employed with The Dog Zone from October of 2005 until April
of 2006, and rejoined The Dog Zone in April of 2007. She was promoted to the
position of Manager in December of 2011. Sara is in charge if the
owners are
unavailable, and can assist you with all your doggie daycare needs!
